Ian Francis has worked for 17 years in the Resilience sector with a wide range of experience as a specialist in Business Continuity, Service Continuity and Data Protection, with implementation projects in the Telecommunication, Finance, Education, Charity and Government sectors.

His early career included 13 years in the Royal Air Force as an avionics trade manager followed by 11 years in the Telecommunications sector. Ian's career in BC and SC started as UK Head of Business Continuity Planning for Orange, he successfully developed and implemented strategies, plans and testing programmes that enabled the company to achieve ISO 17799 accreditation in 2003. He was promoted to Global Head of BC/SC as the leader of the international business continuity programme for Orange Group.

Ian has been a Member of the BCI (MBCI) since 2002 and obtained the CBCP certification in 2005 from DRI International. Ian holds the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer Certification and is a PECB Certified Trainer. He has delivered numerous courses to the public and various organisations since 2006.

Running his own consultancy business for Business and Service Continuity, Ian has worked with numerous private and public sector clients including AOL, Capital One, Fortis Investments and BNP Paribas Asset Management in various European locations. Keen to maintain his wide knowledge in technology, his projects have involved the implementation of Data Protection strategies whilst considering geographical requirements and standards. These implementations have demonstrated their effectiveness in data breech incidents. He has delivered various programmes for the UK Government and Public sector organisations including those in Prison Services, Education, Defence, Vehicle and other Government support services.

Ian has conducted numerous practical courses in the development and implementation of Incident and Business Continuity Exercises. His specialism includes the delivery of Integrated Crisis Management, Service Management and Business Continuity Exercises for his clients. His Crisis Management experience has included leading live incidents with loss of access of buildings or threats to staff such as 7/7, G20 Protests and the Brussels Bombings.
