A business continuity consultant for more than two decades, Betty focuses on working with companies and organizations to assist them in developing their capability to manage enterprise-wide operational risks. She has been a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) with the Disaster Recovery Institute International since 1998, and in 2002 was named a Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute (FBCI).
Betty's work with luxury goods companies, utility companies, professional associations, health care organizations, technology companies, manufacturers, and government agencies attests to her extensive experience in each element of business continuity planning and implementation. Her fundamental goal is to partners with company executives, department managers, and cross-functional project teams to provide a real-world approach to addressing the unique and common challenges that face all types of organizations in developing and maintaining a capability to mitigate and manage risk.
Betty is often called upon as a presenter for conferences and meetings. A strong proponent of the need to fully include the supply chain in business continuity management programs, she is the author of "A Supply Chain Management Guide to Business Continuity" (AMACOM Publishing 2011); Japanese translation, 「事 業継続」のための サ プライチェーン・マネジメント 実 践マニュアル (President Inc. 2011), a ground-breaking comprehensive guide that focuses on supply chain continuity within the framework of an overall business continuity program. In addition, articles she has written have appeared in professional publications in the North America, Europe, and Asia.
Betty has served as a member of the Business Continuity Journal's Peer Review Panel and as a member of the Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Supply Chain Risk Group.
Betty is the author of ContinuityLink's newest training, Supply Chain Continuity.
